MOTHER’S DAY VIGIL and NONVIOLENT DIRECT ACTION
at the Gates of Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor
Sunday, May 13th - Monday, May 14th

Members and supporters of the Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action of Poulsbo, WA will be at the gates of the Trident nuclear submarine base at Bangor to call for a new commitment to a peaceful world for all children, where Trident D-5 missiles and Tomahawk cruise missiles will no longer be required.

January 15, 2007 Continuing the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., over 225 witnessed the nonviolent action.

WHEN:
Sunday, May 13, noon, at Ground Zero for vigil at Bangor submarine base main gate. Nonviolence training and planning 3 pm to 9 pm at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 1547 Sheridan Rd., Bremerton
Monday, May 14, 5 am, assemble at Ground Zero. 6 am, Nonviolent direct action at Bangor main gate.

WHERE: St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 1547 Sheridan Rd., Bremerton. and Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action, 16159 Clear Creek Road NW, Poulsbo.

6:30-9:00   Specific Preparation for Action
9:00   Bedtime: You are welcome to sleep in the church or to camp out at Ground Zero: please bring everything you need (sleeping bag, pillow, pad, towel, tent, etc.) Bathrooms or porta-potties provided.

4:00 am   Wake Up
5:00   Assemble at Ground Zero
5:45-6:45   Vigil and Action at Bangor
7:15   Closing Circle at Ground Zero
8:00   Provided Breakfast and Debriefing at St. Luke's United Methodist Church

What to bring: sack lunch; snacks; drinking water; umbrella; warm, waterproof clothes; flashlight; camera; money for donations, buttons, stickers and t- shirts; materials for making signs; nonviolent, peaceful spirit.
